Traemor
Towns are a key component of the Minecraft Mania server. By building in a town, you get many opportunities to build and create with other players. Whether you've joined a town or not, I thought it would be fun to write a series of blog posts introducing the features of each town. For people who are looking for a town, this is a great way to check them all out! If you already live in a town, maybe you can find some ideas for your own town. We can all enjoy seeing a bit more of what the server has to offer!
About Traemor
Traemor was the second town started on the server, right after Greenville. Traemor's coordinates are -395/ 70/ 167, and it can be found by following the road to the Mini Games District. If you would like to have a base close to spawn, Traemor's a great town to choose. This town was started by Toria (vicorrin on Discord). When she had to be away from the server for an extended period, GalenTheevil stepped in as mayor.
Interview with Galen
To start the series off, I interviewed Traemor's acting mayor, GalenTheevil. Here's what he had to say about Traemor.
R: You joined Traemor as a member before you became a mayor. What made you decide to join Traemor?
G: Honestly, it was the build style, and since there weren't so many members at the time I could build up the town myself.
R: What about the build style got you interested in the town?
G:The challenge of making build pallets with brick, and the cozy feel of the town.
R: What kind of developments are going on in Traemor right now?
G: Right now, I'm working on the nether portal/tower. The paths will get redone in most of the town and the wall around town around the town.
R: Can you tell us a bit about Traemor's shopping district? How does it work?
G: Well, the idea is that the residents of Traemor can set up shop a little closer to home, but other players will be able to set up shop in town for a small fee. It works in the same way as the spawn shopping district. The shop buildings that are there now can be torn down and built in another way when someone wants to open shop there, because they are there mostly to fill the empty space. Shops can sell whatever they want, but the buildings need to follow the Traemor theme
R: It's nice to have a second shopping district near spawn, since the spawn shopping district is starting to fill up. The build style is totally different as well, so it adds some diversity to the shopping areas!
G: Yeah, it's not as big though, but I don't think it will be a problem.
R: I like the small shop look. It makes it nice and cozy.
G: Yeah, that's the theme I'm going for with the town.
R: What is your favorite part about being part of Traemor?
G: That's not an easy question, but I think my absolute favorite part is the building/making of the town block by block.
R: What should new members know about Traemor? What makes it special?
G: I think new members should know that they also can build things freely around town, (as long as it's within reason). And as long as its for everyone. What makes Traemor special, I think, is the block palette, since brick is not as widely used.
