Alapinta
This is the second post in our Town Spotlight series. This post will focus on Alapinta, which is the most secretive of Minecraft Mania's towns.
About Alapinta
Minecraft Mania has a diverse collection of towns, and Alapinta is one of the most unique. The town's coordinates are not posted on the Discord, and they are kept secret by the town members. The only way to find Alapinta is by being invited, or possibly stumbling upon it while exploring. Despite the secretive nature of the town, members of Alapinta are quite welcoming. Members often collaborate on projects and work together to improve the town. Alapinta also has a build style that is unlike any other town, making it unlike any other town on the server. The town was founded by PoPc0rn4lif3.
Interview with Alapinta Members
Because Alapinta is such a cooperative town, I decided to open the interview up to all town members instead of restricting it to just the mayor. Here's what they all had to say about their town!
Ravyneex: Why did you choose Alapinta as your town?
fartzone: I chose Alapinta because I felt it was unique and because I was poor then and popcorn helped me out.
SirDodger: I was walking about and EternalKasai offered me a spot. I accepted and he gave me an elytra at spawn. I tried following but my internet was super laggy that day so he offered to escort me there on foot. It was an especially long walk and I really appreciated the level of patience Eternal showed, unfortunately I died along the way. I almost gave up but Eternal's aid renewed my determination to make the trek again. Eternal had to go but he gave me the coords before logging off. I was new to minecraft, not just the server so I gathered supplies a typical newb would grab - chainmail from the bank chests and a handful of carrots then set off on a 2 hour walk, building dirt huts along the way. After many nights and carrots I finally made it! It really felt like I had earned my home in Alapinta and I've been here ever since.
PoPc0rn4lif3:I wanted something that was different and unique, i decided to tread far away and find a perfect spot for my build, when i first joined the server i knew i wanted to be a mayor, and i knew i wanted that town to be based off of the western air temple in my favorite show, avatar
R: What is your favorite part of Alapinta?
f: My favorite part of alapinta is the unique build style and also the secrecy it has deep within the mysterious mountains.
S: My favorite part of Alapinta is the convenience it offers through features. I'm almost sure we have the most auto-farming features even compared to larger towns and its all right there, everything is relatively close-by including our houses since its all built into the same cliff hollow. It makes crafting extremely easy.
P: My favorite part of the town is the community! I'm so proud of what we've accomplished and the community we built!
R: Alapinta is the server's only secret town. Why did you decide to keep the coordinates hidden?
f: At first I wasn’t up to par with the whole secret location thing but then I realized it made alapinta truly one of a kind and different. Also with that secrecy, I wanted alapinta to be better than all the other towns.

S: Not sure since I came later on but i find keeping the coordinates secret adds to the mystery and appeal not to mention drifting looters are less likely to raid our chests (even though our server members are very trustworthy in general and wouldn't do that).
P: I decided to keep it secret to keep it mysterious and different, we like to have a close group of people and keep the coords secret help us do that much easier
R: Alapinta's building style is quite unique. How did you decide on the style?
f: The style was decided on by popcorn and the whole hanging theme was mainly because the town was embedded in a cliff/cavern
S: As a later addition to the town I'm not sure but I find it to be extremely unique and well put together!
P: I love the show avatar, and the western air temple was always my favorite for it's unique-ness, this temple hangs from the roof of a cavern/ravine
R: What do you think new members should know about Alapinta?
f: We share resources together! There is no stealing in Alapinta. We work together diligently on everything whether it be Redstone/etc. Alapinta is great in its current state but can be greater and that’s why we need you.
S: We have so many features that that you'd otherwise have to spend hours grinding for. Not to mention we have over 20 categorized community chests, we offer free elytras when they're available, free houses and as long as you lend a hand on community builds from time to time - its totally cool if you wanna build a base somewhere else and do your own thing too!
P: new members should know that we love our community, and active players, we have lots of town resources, and all share resources
R: How can a new member go about joining Alapinta?
f: New members can dm in game or on dc. You can text anyone in alapinta but me, sirdodger and popcorn are most active so we will be online to welcome you fast.
